Tom
Norton
March 3, 1960 – July 28, 2019
"Every second of every day a memory is made. So live life like there is no tomorrow"
Tom Norton was born March 3, 1960. He passed away on July 28, 2019 after a 17 month fight with Stage 4 Pancreatic Cancer.
Tom "Tommy" Norton had a good life, some think too good sometimes! He lived in Southwest Philadelphia for 10 years until his family settled in Lansdowne, PA in Delaware County. It was there where he lived until adulthood. First as a student at St, Charles Borromeo School then Monsignor Bonner and Archbishop Prendergast Catholic High School. He made many friends and pursued many adventures. At age 11 he became a news carrier for The Evening Bulletin. After that he worked in an auto body shop as well as McDonalds.
All work and no play, Tom did not participate in school sports, although he was a member of the Lansdowne Boys Club. At the Boys Club he participated in basketball and soccer. Some of his best memories were when his father was the coach.
When Tom graduated from Bonner in 1978, he went on to continue his education at Westchester State College where he became a lifelong member of Tau Kappa Epsilon (TKE). He made lifelong friends from his fraternity and saw and spoke to them often. Just a few months ago he traveled to attend their homecoming game with many brothers and friends.
Tom was one of the biggest Philly Fans there was. No matter if it was the Eagles, Phillies, Flyers or 76'ers. His dream was to see the Eagles win the Superbowl, which he was able to do before he passed. He even proposed to his wife Theresa at a Phillies game while his proposal flashed across the screen for all to witness.
Tom moved to Cape Coral, Florida in 2013 where he started a successful DJ business. He was known around town as DJ TommyTom. His Trivia nights & high energy dance parties were held in numerous venues in Ft. Myers & the Cape Coral area. Some of those included Reds, Nauti Parrot, Anthony's, Del Tura Country Club, Pine Lakes Country Club, Cactus Jacks and more. The patrons were not only clients they were his best friends. He lived for his work and making people happy through his music and Trivia games. DJing was not a job to DJTommyTom it was his life. He touched peoples lives and he loved every moment, as well as being loved by so many.
Tom will always be remembered for his amazing personality, his charm, charisma, determination and fighting spirit. There was no one more positive than him. His witty sense of humor and one liners made everyone who knew him smile and laugh. He was truly unique.
Tom is survived by his mother Juanita Norton of Cape Coral, FL, wife Theresa Norton of N. Ft. Myers, FL, His children; Jason Norton of Chicago, IL, Kelly (Ben) McCoy of Lancaster, PA, Danielle (Steve) Scavone of Royersford, PA, Patrick Norton of Brooklyn, NY.
