Trevor Kingsley Mills was a loving devoted husband and father. This patriarch will be greatly missed by his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, but most of all by his wife, whom he loved dearly. He imparted to his family the importance of hard work, discipline, devotion and caring for family, friends and neighbors. Trevor passed away on April 18, 2026, at Southwest Marion Hospital after many years of being ill.
Trevor was born on July 29, 1939, to Luther and Emselina (Mowatt) Mills. In Kingston, Jamaica. He received his Elementary and High School education in Jamaica. And higher education at the University of the West Indies. Trevor worked for Peat Marwick Mitchell (KPMG) as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), and for Dyoll Insurance Company as a Financial Controller. In 1979 Trevor acquired employment with Corenco Corporation in Tewksbury Massachusetts, currently known as Baker Commodities. He began as the Plant Accountant and advanced to the position of Fleet Manager. In 2002, after twenty-three years of service, Trevor retired and migrated to Ocala, Florida.
Trevor enjoyed his early retirement with the love of his life, his wife of 61 years. He quickly reconnected with childhood friends and met new friends as they explored the new surroundings.
Trevor was a Major League Soccer player. He played professionally for Santos Football Club in Jamaica. And was the President of the BRAZIJAMA Football Club in Massachusetts. He also coached and ran soccer clinics for many teams. Trevor loved all sports and was a big fan of all the New England teams. He especially enjoyed watching Tom Brady play and win year after year with the New England Patriots.
He was an avid gardener, who took great pride in his flower gardens, particularly his rose garden. He also delighted in maintaining his meticulously landscaped lawn.
Trevor is survived by his wife of 61 years, Dulcie Y. (Reynolds) Mills and their four children, Andre Mills of Dracut, MA; Andrea Choate and her husband Mark of Manchester, NH; Troy Mills and his wife Julie of Rockledge, Fl. and Omar Mills of Ocala Fl.
Trevor enjoyed spending time with his eight grandchildren; Alexander Mills, Timothy Choate, Brieanna Mills, Mark Choate II, Natisha Mills, Stephen Choate, Qiana Mills and Victoria Choate. And his six great grandchildren. He never missed a moment to impart a bit of wisdom, tell a clever joke or show off his dance moves.
Trevor is also survived by his sister, Vernonica Carnegie and his brothers, Alvin, Luther, Peter and Ruel Mills. Trevor leaves behind many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends whom he cherished.
Trevor was predeceased by his parents Luther and Emselina (Mowatt) Mills. His sister Cynthia Mills and brothers Winston and Hugo Mills.
Trevor was a member of the Southwest Christian Church 9045 SW 60th Avenue Ocala, Florida 34476. Where a Celebration of Life Service will be held in his honor on Saturday, May 9, 2026 at NOON.
