Obituary

Ursula M. (Schneider) Linhard, 64, of Punta Gorda, beloved wife of Mark C.

Linhard, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, August 16, 2023. Ursula was

born in Danbury, CT. on December 25, 1958, daughter of the late Walter and

Emmy (Maute) Schneider. She was a graduate of Danbury High School and also

attended Western Connecticut State University.

Ursula is known for her love and devotion to all animals. Her farm which she

named 'Happy Acres' brought her immense joy at her home in Thomaston, CT.

Her husband Mark never knew what he would come home to next; a new horse,

donkey, miniature pony, goat, chickens, turkeys or ducks. In her spare time,

Ursula enjoyed crocheting, gardening, tending to her fish tank and a variety of

craft projects. She loved the beach and believed you could never collect too

many shells.

Ursula worked as an office manager at a veterinary hospital for over 25 years

before retiring. Prior to that she was a flight attendant for Pan Am and traveled

the globe.

Ursula and her husband decided it was finally time to retire and head south to a

warmer climate. They moved to Florida in November 2020.

In addition to Mark, her husband of 35 years, Ursula is survived by Sammie (their

bulldog), her stepchildren Mark Linhard Jr. (Grace) and Dorann Latarski (Keith).

She will be forever missed by her two sisters, Nancy Schneider-Viglotti (Lou), of

Jensen Beach, her niece and nephew Danielle and Anthony Viglotti, Susan Knapp

of Danbury, CT, two nieces Erika Bryan and her husband Ben, Krystal Musante and

her husband Andrew, along with great nieces, great nephews, grandchildren and

many dear friends.

A church service honoring Ursula's life will be held Thursday, September 7th at

10:30 a.m. at Faith Lutheran Church, 4005 Palm Drive, Punta Gorda, FL.

Memorial donations may be made to Kelly's Kids 18 Spring Road Prospect, CT 06712 (an educational

Children's farm), HighWire Deer & Animal Farm 68 Park Road Woodbury, CT 06798 or a local

animal shelter.

A memorial service in CT will be announced at a later date.
