Valerie McKnelly Bennett (81) originally from Pacific Palisades, California passed away, surrounded by family and friends on January 24, 2026. Valerie was born on July 22, 1944, to George and Nelda Forde. Valerie graduated from The University of Oregon in 1967 with a BA degree in foreign languages. Her lifelong passion was traveling the world, driving Porsche autocross, and spending time with her family, friends, and pets. Valerie is predeceased by her parents George and Nelda Forde and niece Kristan Wilson. She is survived by her husband of 34 years Donald Bennett, sister Kimberlee Wilson, daughter Melissa Jones, sons Michael and Tim Bennett, niece Lindsay Barrington, and grandchildren Sarah, Anna, Brooke, and Brandon Bennett. Services for Valerie are private currently and at the discretion of her family. In lieu of flowers, please donate in her name to Compassionate Care Hospice.
