Valerie J. Gibbons, age 70, of Fort Myers, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family after a valiant battle with cancer. Her faith and family were always very near to her. Valerie grew up in Wallington, NJ and attended St. Michael's Cathedral Parish and school. She is a graduate of Pope Pius XII High School in Passaic, NJ and Berkeley Secretarial College in East Orange, NJ.

Valerie was predeceased by her parents Frank and Helen (Kocur) Wallar and her brother Frank Wallar, Jr. She and her husband, James Gibbons, were happily married for 38 years. Also surviving are their children, Christopher Gibbons and his wife, Joyce, and Kara Morris and her husband, Joseph, and Brian Gibbons. Valerie was a very proud grandmother of two small boys, Paul and Simon Morris. She was the beloved sister of Andrew Wallar and his wife, Ani, and Mary Ellen Wallar-Panzano and her husband, Alexander, (deceased) both of Palm Coast, FL. She was the beloved aunt to Drew, Sandra, Christine, Alexander W., Amy, Alexander P. and Nicholas.

The funeral service will be held at All Saints Byzantine Catholic Church, 10291 Bayshore Road, North Fort Myers, FL 33917 at 11:00 AM on Saturday, October 19, 2024.
