Vallee Mae Hansel, age 102 (one month short of 103) of Cape Coral, FL, passed away Sunday, April 27, 2025, in Punta Gorda, FL.  She was formerly from Oshkosh, Wisconsin.  She was born Saturday, May 27, 1922, to Mae and Edgar Albertz in Columbus, Wisconsin.

Vallee graduated from Lena Wisconsin High School and married her High School sweetheart LeRoy Hansel in 1942. Vallee followed him to, Colorado, Texas, California and Oregon during his Army service. After his military service they settled in Oshkosh, Wisconsin with their only child Sandra.

She was a wife, mother and homemaker for many years. She later worked at Winnebago State Hospital caring for autistic children.

She loved playing cards with friends and family.  She volunteered at St.  Peter's Church, St. Vincent De Paul and Special Olympics.  She spent many hours cooking and canning LeRoy's garden produce, fruit and his sporting wildlife.  She and her special cousin Vallee Randall spent many winters in Arizona.  She was a lifetime Green Bay Packers fan and never went without her Packer blanket in later years.

She is survived by daughter Sandra (Don) Smith.  Grandchildren; Leah (Greg) Paulson, Don (Emily Clark) Smith II and Colleen (Drew) Achterhof.  One great grandchild Riley Achterhof.  One sister Beverly Kopp. Many beloved nieces, nephews and cousins.

Preceded in death by husband; LeRoy Hansel, son-in-law; David Lawer, parents; Mae and Edgar Albertz; sister, Phyllis Albertz, brothers Charles "Mick" (Beattie) Albertz and Ralph (Betty) Albertz.  In Laws; Laverne (Martin) Yakubic, Leonard (Aldona) Hansel and Elmer "Jim" Kopp; nephew; Charles "Chuck" Albertz and cousins.

She will be interned at Lake View Memorial Park Oshkosh, Wisconsin
