Ven passed quietly on the evening of February 17, 2026 at Mission Oaks Assisted Living Facility, Oxford, FL.
He was born in Chicago, IL on July 13, 1944, to Venneth D. West, Sr. and Margaret Louise (Walker) West. Along with his parents, Ven had three siblings, Stephen, Peggy and Greg, all of whom predeceased him. At the onset of his teenage years, the family moved to Niceville, Florida, where he fondly hails from. He graduated from William Cary College in Hattiesburg, MS.
He was employed as an Analyst by the Department of Defense (Defense Mapping Agency/National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency) his entire 30+ year career. He was responsible for providing critical navigation, topographic, and digital data for military operations.
He is survived by his wife Georgina Stevens and daughter, Allison Daly. He also leaves a large extended family of nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, stepchildren, step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren. He will also be remembered by several groups of golf friends and traveling companions from The Woods, WV and The Villages, FL.
His family wishes to thank the staffs of the Mission Oaks Assisted Living Facility and Compassionate Care Hospice for their loving care. The arrangements are under the direction of the Baldwin Brothers Funeral & Cremation Society. There will be no services and internment will be private.
Goodbye to the ‘nice guy from Niceville’. You will be missed.
