Obituary

Vicki Lynn Champion passed away Wednesday, October 28, 2026. She left us with the same feisty and determined attitude she lived life by.

Born June 4, 1943, in Milwaukee, WI to Gordon and Shirley (Cosper) Shroeder who proceeded her in death. Her early years were spent in Shorewood, WI where she graduated high school. She attended Drake University, Des Moines, IA where she met the father of her children. This union led them to Ankara, Turkey where Bob served in the United States Air Force and the birthplace of their first child, Eric. Also, the start of the creation of numerous groups of friendships Vicki would create through her lifetime starting with this Turkish group. From there they found their way to Burlington, WI, where Vicki would find her “calling” in Real Estate, passion as “Petunia” the clown and the understanding of chosen family, extended and created by love, bonds and connection.

Eventually she found her way back to Shorewood, her “home”. She continued to be involved in groups such as the DAR (Daughters of the American Revolution), WI Assoc. of Real Estate Agents, Kiwanis, book club, knitting group, etc. She had also found a second home in Florida where she was a snowbird and created yet again another amazing network of friends built through the many interests she had.

Most important to Vicki was her devotion to her faith and the family she found in the Episcopalian Church and Cursillo. Her faith is what gave her devotion, determination and drive. The backbone of who she was.

Vicki was not only a mother to her two children but surrogate mother, aunt and grandmother to the numerous students who would rent a room from her when she moved back to Shorewood close to the Universities in Milwaukee and had the space available. Those relationships remained close and spread globally.

Vicki is survived by her two children, Eric (Kellie) and Nicole. Her Brother, Bruce Schoeder. Step-Grandsons, Anthony (Christine) Sly, their newborn daughter, Logan and Michael (Lydia) Sly. Her beloved cousins, extended family members (you all know who you are) and the numerous friends that all meant so much to her.

Her Service and Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, December 5, 2026. The service will be at 1pm at Christ Church, 5655 N Lake Dr., Whitefish Bay, WI. With a celebration of Life immediately following from 2pm to 6pm at the Hubbard Park Lodge, 3565 Morris Blvd., Shorewood, WI.

Also to be noted the great appreciation of the care Vicki received this past year, her Dr.’s and staff in Florida and WI, as well as the teams at Harbour Village and Agrace Hospice, you all brought comfort at the most needed time.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to a charity of your choice or one you know Vicki would appreciate. Arrangements entrusted with BALDWIN BROTHERS Funeral & Cremation Society-Spanish Springs, 352-430-1449. Sentiments are encouraged at www.baldwincremation.com.
