IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Vicki Ann
"Mema" Sanders
January 26, 1949 – February 26, 2025
The world just got a little quieter, a little less vibrant, and a whole lot less interesting. Vicki Ann Sanders "Mema", a woman who never did anything halfway, left this world on February 26, 2025, the same way she lived in it—on her own terms.
Born on January 26, 1949, to Vivian M. Sanders and Gerald C. Sanders of Lisbon, Ohio, Vicki grew up with a fiery spirit and an unstoppable determination. She attended Lisbon David Anderson High School and built a life filled with love, laughter, and unwavering strength. She shared a lifetime of laughs, bickering and unconditional love with her siblings, Gerald Sanders and Michele L. Hurst "Duffy", who will cherish her memory always.
Vicki was a devoted mother to her daughters, Yvonne M. Arnold (Kevin Ours) of Calcutta, Ohio, and Abbey M. Arnold (Scott Traut) of Eustis, Florida. Her grandchildren, Kristopher M. Ours and Kayla Ours of Calcutta, Ohio, along with Jeremy R. Bennett and Michelle Bennett of Eustis, Florida, will forever remember their Mema's quick wit, sharp tongue, and unwavering ability to dish out advice—solicited or not. Her legacy continues through her beloved great-grandchildren: Kristopher M. Ours, Jaymon R. Bennett, and Ashton L. Byrne. She leaves behind many friends and extended family members who will forever miss her fiery spirit.
A proud lifetime member of VFW Post 4111 in Lisbon, OH, Vicki was a dedicated supporter of veterans and her community. She was also the owner and operator of Guardian Angel Transportation in Youngstown, OH.
True to her passionate and determined nature, Vicki married the love of her life, Thomas John White of Boise, Idaho, in a heartfelt bedside ceremony on February 24, 2025—just two days before her passing. Though their marriage was brief, their love story and commitment to one another began long ago.
Vicki was a force of nature, a woman who lived boldly and loved fiercely. Though she may no longer walk among us, her fire will never fade. In her honor, let us celebrate her life with stories, laughter, and the same unapologetic passion she carried every day.
A celebration of her life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, take a moment to cherish your loved ones, support a veteran, or simply live life with the same fearless energy that Vicki did.
Rest easy, Mema. Your fire will never go out.
