Vincent Colavolpe, 68, died on August 17, 2020, originally from New Haven CT, but moved to be with his kids in Florida where he resided in Fort Myers, FL.

He was battling a long-time illness that he finally succumbed to.

Vinny was a very fiery and tough man; he was our Yale Mobster. He was one of those characters you couldn't easily forget. He had strength that was incredible, that I am not sure he let most people see. He had learned valuable lessons in life. He always made sure that he took care of his friends, if you were a friend of his. He treated you like family and would do anything for you. He was always giving to the community that he lived in and he was very well known as the "Boss", which simply meant, that if someone needed anything, he was the person everyone went to for help, as he was always willing to help anyone. I don't think he knew how to say "no", because he loved it.

While in my home his last couple of months, I learned that he loved me more than his own life. He was my protector because no one was ever good enough for me. He was also my best friend and teacher. He was everything to everyone who came to visit, even in death.

Vinny is survived by his 5 daughters, Domenica Colavolpe, Vanessa (Squirt) Colavolpe, (complicated but never forgotten), Jessica Colavolpe, Tiffany Colavolpe and Vincenza Colavolpe; grandchildren, Valerie Lopez, Marino Acquarulo and Rosie McClain; 3 great grandchildren, Jeremiah, Avi and Cristiano; his beloved younger brother, Ralph Colavolpe; son in law, Frank Acquarulo, and Tim Peters, the significant other of daughter, Vanessa Colavolpe, who stayed by Vinnie's side through his end of life journey until his last breath taken in their home while surrounded by his loved ones.

He will be greatly missed by many people and not easily forgotten. I don't think Vinny realized the impact he had on most. He was funny and fiery. He took his last breath at home, but his life will be in eternity.
