Obituary

It is with heavy hearts we announce the sudden passing of our beloved Husband, Father, Brother, Uncle, Grandpap, and Great-Grandpap, Vincent R. Pecoraro, who passed away peacefully surrounded by family in Ormond Beach, Florida on February 23, 2024, at the age of 84. The Silver Haired Fox as he was affectionately called was loved by all and will be greatly missed. He has left a void which cannot be filled.

Vince was born in 1939 in Jeannette, Pennsylvania, the son of Nicholas and Mary Pecoraro. He moved to Florida in the early 1990s and made Ormond Beach his home.

He was a one-of-a-kind guy, full of energy and very outgoing; everyone knew when he was in the room. He loved being around people and constantly invested in bettering both their lives and the community in which he lived.

Growing up Vince was the class President of Jeanette High School, editor of the High School newspaper, and an avid sports enthusiast. Continuing his education, he received his degree from St. Vincent College while starting his family and building his life with his wife Johanna.

After graduating, he spent a short time in Kentucky before moving to Cincinnati which would become his home for the next 25 years. In Cincinnati he continued his career in pharmaceutical sales working at WM S Merrill Company.

Shortly after arriving in Cincinnati his love for soccer began and grew into his passion, where he was a coach, tournament organizer, referee and indoor soccer owner.

The journey began with coaching SAY Soccer which evolved into select travel soccer.   He continued his coaching career with 4 successful years at Forest Park High School culminating into a Hall of Fame induction. The last stop on the coaching train was as head coach of Xavier University men's soccer. During this time, Vince also owned and ran the first local indoor soccer facility in the area.  In addition, he was also a well-respected referee, officiating high school, college and high-level national competitions.  The highlight in his long refereeing profession was officiating the U-19 national finals in Omaha Nebraska. The ultimate recognition for his life in soccer was induction in the Ohio Soccer Hall of Fame.

After retiring from coaching and refereeing, he relocated to sunny Ormond Beach, Florida where he defined retirement his way. In Ormond he continued his real estate endeavors tapping into both residential and commercial opportunities. He met countless people along the way and was a trusted advisor and investor to many.

More recently, he enjoyed spending time at Riviera Golf Club where you could find him playing a few rounds of golf each week and holding court at the 19 th hole. He and his friends would relive key moments of their round – the long drives, great approach shots, clutch putts, and even a few mishaps with the water hazards. Vince also enjoyed entertaining his buddies with family stories: proud moments of all his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He took pride in all of their accomplishments and loved seeing them turn their passions into reality.

Vince was preceded in death by his parents, Nick and Mary Pecoraro, his children Monica, Maria, and David, and his brother Nick.

He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Johanna, his children Vincent A and wife Michelle, Johanna (Dodie), Michael and wife Denise, and Jon and wife Monica, 9 Grandchildren: Vincent M. and wife Amber, Jonathan and wife Ashley, Robin White and husband Murray, Ariana, Natalie, Nicholas, Noah, Alexandra, and Marisa, 9 Great Grandchildren and many extended family members.

No funeral services or burial is planned.  For those wishing to make a donation in Vince's name, he supported St. Judes and the Shriners .

Dad, you may be gone, but you will never be forgotten. Your heart, sincerity, integrity and kind soul will stay with us forever. Through our tears we see the blessings of knowing and loving a great man and the best father a son or daughter could have.
