Virgil Scott
Lowe, Jr.
November 14, 1971 – May 29, 2026
Virgil “Scott” Lowe, Jr. passed away unexpectedly on May 29, 2026, at the age of 54. A resident of Canton, Georgia, Scott leaves behind a legacy of laughter, service, and an unshakeable passion for life.
Born on November 14, 1971, Scott grew up in Coral Springs, Florida, where he attended Coral Springs High School. Guided by a desire to serve his country, he proudly served in the United States Marine Corps, embodying the values of dedication and honor throughout his life. For years, Scott was a familiar and welcome face to many as he ran his Snap-On Tools route for 22 years bringing his trademark energy and work ethic to his customers every day.
Beyond his career, Scott’s true sanctuary was the open trail. He was an avid and passionate runner, completing numerous marathons over the last 25 years. If he wasn't on his Snap-On Tools truck, he could almost certainly be found at a local park, logging miles and effortlessly making new friends along the way. Scott was incredibly generous with his passion, always eager to encourage, mentor, and train young people who shared his drive to run.
To know Scott was to know joy. He was famously a combination of a "big kid at heart and an old man”what a combo! His quick wit and bright personality to keep his family and friends laughing through the years. Above all, he cherished his family, holding a particularly special bond with his nephews and nieces and just getting to love and enjoy his great-nephews. Scott always thanked God for many of the joys and blessing in his life.
Scott was preceded in death by his father, Virgil Scott Lowe, Sr.; his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. William Lowe, and Mr. and Mrs. John Bolash; as well as uncles John Bolash and Bill Lowe, and his aunt, Treci Eichorn,
He is survived by his loving mother, Pam Lowe of Canton, GA; his “humorous” brother, Mike Lowe and sister-in-law, Tish of Lafayette, GA; and his "favorite sister," Heather Tutherow, and her husband, Ryan, of Cartersville, GA. He also leaves behind a devoted generation of nieces and nephews: Trevor Lowe (Anna), Jackson, Chaz,, Colton, Wil Scott, Sidney, Saxon (Gavin), Sophia, Bella, and Michael Jr. His three cherished great-nephews, Shepherd, Baker and Meek as well as many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Also, Scott is survived by his loving companion, Cara Norton, with whom he shared a beautiful friendship and life with for many years.
Scott, you succeeded and made it to the finish line, praise God! you are loved and you are missed. Forever in our hearts… until we meet again.
