Virginia Ann Gallagher (nee Meadows) passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family at the age of 85 at 3:17 AM on July 11, 2020.

Jenny, as her friends called her, was born in Gordon, Alabama, on August 22, 1934, to Frank and Myrtice Meadows (nee Bradberry). She graduated from Cottonwood High School in 1952. The day after graduation, Jenny moved to Washington, D.C. and took a job with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (F.B.I.). In 1954, she met Kenneth Gallagher, and on November 24, 1954, they were married. They lived in the Maryland suburbs until 1991 when they moved to Ocala, FL.

Jenny had a successful antique business, Little Treasures, and worked at the Ocala Antique Mall for almost 30 years. She was an avid reader, a Gaither Vocal Band groupie, but most importantly she loved doting on her family.

She is survived by her husband, Kenneth; sisters Sue Meadows of Dunnellon, FL, Althea (Norwood) Jackson of Brooksville, FL, Gayle Monday of Dothan, AL, and a brother Truman Meadows of Cottonwood, AL; two sons, Steve Gallagher (Cathy) of Ocala, FL, and Rick Gallagher (Lori) of Laurel, MD, a daughter Sharon Schmidt (Ray) of Jacksonville, FL; Grandchildren: Christopher Schmidt (Brooke), Michael Schmidt, Rebecca Peacock (Luke), Jeffrey Schmidt (Bri), Julia Raynor (Kyle), Stephen Gallagher, Melissa Gallagher, Liz Ellis (Tommy) and Tori Gentry (Liz); Great Grandchildren: Oliver, Coeur d'Lane, Lennon, Parker, Emmitt, Shepherd, Brooks, Tommy and Leilani; numerous nieces and nephews; and her best friend and antique picking buddy, Cindy Eisaman.

The family would like to thank the wonderful caregivers at Marion County Hospice and Dr. Kidambi. It is because of these kind souls that our loved one had a peaceful transition.
