W. Gail Wiginton, beloved husband, grandfather, great grandfather and brother passed away on December 20, 2018. He passed in the loving care of Hospice of the Comforter, Altamonte Springs, FL. Gail was born in Lakeview, Texas on May 21, 1938. He was one of twelve children of Lasco and Mildred Bailey Wiginton. Gail attended Lakeview Public Schools, graduating from Lakeview High School in 1957 where he excelled in Tennis and Football. He attended Clarendon Junior College for a short time. He moved to Orlando in 1958 and met his future wife, Carol Ramsey. They were married on June 22, 1961. He served in the US Army from 1960-1966. He was stationed in Okinawa for 14 months. He worked with his brother, Joe, to establish Wiginton Fire Systems, a very successful fire protection company. Gail took an early retirement and enjoyed spending time in the North Carolina Mountains at the cabin they purchased. This lasted about 7 years and he and Carol moved to Raleigh, NC, where he and his son started a fire sprinkler business. When the recession occurred, the business was closed and he returned to Florida. He later returned to Wiginton Fire full time as Service, Sales & Inspections. He would do that for several years and then work part time until September of this year. Gail enjoyed boating, bowling and attending his grandsons' football games and wrestling matches. He also enjoyed watching our granddaughter compete in horseback competitions while living in NC.
