Walter 'Whit' Wilson, 78, passed away peacefully at hospice on April 18, 2026. He was born in Durham, North Carolina; his early years were spent in Durham, later his family moved to Shrewsbury, New Jersey. He joined the Air Force after graduating high school. He served three years as an aircraft mechanic in Vietnam and one year as a reserve. Whit settled in Daytona Beach where he attended Embry Riddle and earned his aircraft mechanic degree. Before his retirement he was manager for Aircraft Services International at Daytona International Airport, then at Orlando International Airport.
Whit was married to Marsha for 47 years and together they raised three children. He loved a good game of golf; always trying to master that perfect swing. Whit was a genuine good guy that loved his family, friends and the Miami Dolphins.
Whit was preceded in death by his parents, Walter Sr and Kathleen; sisters, Kim and Cindy Wilson. He is survived by his wife, Marsha; daughter, Kristin; stepsons, Michael (Kristen) Krueger and Mathew (Mary) Krueger; six grandchildren, Cole and Brendan Krueger, Jake and Colin Krueger and Kelci and Kali Rivera. His brother Todd (Molly) Wilson; Niece, Brittany Williams; nephew, Brandon Wilson.
We love you Whit and will miss you for the rest of our lives.
