Warren Trager, a native of Daytona Beach, Florida, passed away on April 20, 2026, at the age of 90. Born on December 16, 1935, in Daytona Beach, he spent his entire life in the community he loved and helped shape.
Warren graduated from Seabreeze High School and went on to attend Mary Karl Vocational School for Electronics, where he developed a lifelong passion for fixing and restoring things. He also proudly served in the Naval Reserves.
A natural entrepreneur, Warren built and operated several successful businesses throughout his life. He owned and ran a TV repair shop, an antique store, multiple pawnshops, a liquor store, and Kressman’s Repair Store—where he was fondly known by many as “Mr. Kressman.” His ingenuity, work ethic, and commitment to his craft earned him both respect and admiration in the community.
Warren approached every challenge with curiosity and determination, educating himself until he could accomplish whatever he set out to do.
Warren was predeceased by his parents, Shirley and Saul Trager, and his sisters, Joyce Schonwetter and Barbara Lopatin.
He met the love of his life, Ruth Elsie, atop the Daytona Beach Boardwalk. They were married on October 20, 1957, and shared 68 devoted years together, building a strong and loving family.
He is survived by his children: Brenda (and Michael Kamenoff) of Orlando; Sharon (and Ray Crigger) of Titusville; and Rhonda (and Mitchel Roth) of Hollywood, Florida. He also leaves behind five cherished grandchildren and one great-grandchild. His beloved dog was his constant companion.
Warren was deeply involved in his community and widely respected for his service. He was a dedicated member and member of the board of Temple Israel and contributed his time and expertise to numerous local boards, including the Senior Advisory Board, the Nuisance and Abatement Board, and the Historic Preservation Board of Daytona Beach. He also served as president of the Halifax Historical Society and as a board member of the Second Avenue Merchants Association and the Anthropological Society.
In his free time, Warren enjoyed metal detecting and was an active member of the Metal Locators Club. He also took great pleasure in being featured on the television program American Pickers and on PBS Florida Road Trip: Daytona Beach.
A graveside funeral service will be held on Friday, April 24th at 11:30AM at Mount Sinai Cemetery, 340 White St, Daytona Beach, FL 32114.
Donations may be made in Warren’s honor to the Halifax Historical Museum, https://www.halifaxhistorical.org/
