IN LOVING MEMORY OF
William "Bill"
Harrington, III
August 6, 1942 – January 30, 2026
William Thomas Harrington III (“Bill”), age 83, died peacefully at his home on January 30, 2026, in Florida. He was born on August 6, 1942, in the Bronx and grew up in Larchmont, New York.
After graduating from Iona Preparatory School in New Rochelle, Bill attended Fordham University in New York and remained a proud, lifelong Ram. He earned an MBA from the Baruch School of Business and began his professional career with textile giant Burlington Industries at a time when the garment industry was a vital part of Manhattan’s economy. He later became president of TTC, which specialized in textile imports from Italy, and resided in Ramsey, New Jersey, for many years.
In 1998, Bill relocated to Charleston, South Carolina, and later made his home in The Village of Largo in The Villages, Florida, where he resided for the past 15 years. There, he embraced a lifestyle that allowed him to fully enjoy his love of golf. Whether walking the course, perfecting his swing, or enjoying time with friends between holes, the game brought him immense joy and was a defining passion in his life. A devoted Catholic, faith was an important and steady presence for him.
Bill is survived by his devoted wife and partner of 33 years, Barbara Harrington. From his first marriage, he is survived by his daughter, Kimberly Harrington, and her husband, Rick, of Washington, DC; his son, Brian Harrington, and his wife, Sherry, of South Plainfield, New Jersey; and his son, William Thomas Harrington IV, who predeceased him. He is also survived by three wonderful grandchildren, Carolina, Sebastian, and Brandon, and by six younger siblings who live throughout the country.
Cremation arrangements will be handled in accordance with Bill’s wishes.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association in his memory.
