William "Bill" L. Thubbron Sr., 79, of Ocala, Florida, passed away peacefully on July 28, 2026. He was the beloved son of the late John W. Thubbron and Henrietta Malone Thubbron.

Bill graduated from Exeter High School with the Class of 1965, where he was an active member of both the basketball team and the school band, proudly playing the saxophone. Following graduation, he answered the call to serve his country by enlisting in the United States Navy.

Over the course of an extraordinary 27½-year military career, Bill served with honor and distinction in both the United States Navy and the United States Army. He served during the Vietnam War while in the Navy and later served during the Gulf War and Operation Iraqi Freedom with the Army. He retired with the rank of Sergeant First Class, a testament to his dedication, leadership, and commitment to his fellow service members. Following his military retirement, Bill continued serving his community as a security guard for LCCC.

Bill found joy in life's simple pleasures. He loved spending time fishing, watching classic Western movies, and, above all, being with his family and friends. His love of country and his years of military service remained a source of great pride throughout his life.

In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his brother, John H. Thubbron of Pittston, Pennsylvania; his sister, Jane Osborne of Ellwood City, Pennsylvania; and his brother, Herbert Rawding of Beaver Valley, Pennsylvania.

He is survived by his loving children: Lisa Shotwell and her husband, Kenneth, of Ocala, Florida; Lori Luongo and her husband, Robert, of Dallas, Pennsylvania; William L. Thubbron Jr. and his wife, Brianne, of Pittston, Pennsylvania; and John Thubbron of Tunkhannock, Pennsylvania. He is also survived by his sister, Louise Stasik of Duryea, Pennsylvania, as well as eleven cherished grandchildren and nine beloved great-grandchildren.

Bill's legacy of service, strength, and devotion to his family will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
