IN LOVING MEMORY OF
William "Bill"
Woodrow
June 15, 1948 – February 17, 2026
William (Bill) Woodrow, age 77, died on February 17, 2026 after a 3+ year bout with pancreatic cancer. Bill is survived by his wife, Barbara Woodrow; his Brother Steven Woodrow; Sisters Julie and Shirley Woodrow; Brothers-in-law William Howell (Pat Knapp), Dale Bishop (Donna); Nephews Nick Woodrow, Tyler Bishop, David Rushing (Lindsey), Jeffrey Howell (Debbie); Nieces Kelli Woodrow (Patrick van den Broek), Angela Crosby (Pat), Tracy Raison (Chris), Grace Bishop; and Woodrow and Wend cousins. He was preceded in death by his Father James Eli Woodrow; Mother Grace Woodrow; Brother Nicholas Woodrow; Sisters-in-law Trish Woodrow and Audrey Howell.
Bill was born on June 15, 1948 in Traverse City, Michigan to parents Jim & Grace Woodrow. He graduated from Traverse City High School in 1966 and later from Central Michigan University with a Bachelor of Science degree. In 1972 he was commissioned as a LTJG in the Navy and spent 4 years in the aviation wing, radar jamming over Vietnam. Upon his return to Michigan he began a career in employment counseling and management. A lifelong learner, he acquired an industrial engineering degree while working full time. Bill and Barb were married in Traverse City in 1978 and enjoyed a great life with their cats, friends and classic wood boats. In 2010 they joined Steve & Trish in Florida and he settled in with new friends and classic Mustang restoration. Travel was always on the agenda for Bill and Barb. His latest great interest was cooking; and boy could he. Bill was the I.T. guy, chief chef, best cat dad and my Buddy!
A Military funeral is scheduled for 11:00 am on June 15 at Sarasota National Cemetery with a luncheon to follow. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Bill’s life. Please rsvp to Barb if you will be joining for the lunch.
