William James Cunningham, Jr., 77, of Ocala, FL passed away on Saturday, April 11, 2026.

He was born February 22, 1949 in Washington DC and  was the youngest of 5 children and the only son. He

is predeceased by his sisters Claire, Barbara and Carolyn, his parents William Cunningham Sr and Helen 

Cunningham.  William, known as Butch worked in the hydraulics industry most of his life  and started 

Cunningham Fluid Power in 1994 and ran it until the sale of the company in 2023. He quickly became an expert 

in his field and was always willing to share his expertise with others in the industry.  Butch enjoyed traveling and 

cruising with his wife Karen. They enjoyed many cruises together and especially loved their travels to Italy.

Butch is survived by his wife Karen Cunningham, His children Merrit Neptune, his son Clayton Cunningham

 and stepchildren Travis Sorenson and Coral Moorhouse. He is also survived by his sister Margie Mouratis

and his grandchildren Leigh Neptune and Jamen Neptune and many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations to Marion Therapeutic Riding Association.

The family would like to thank Empath Hospice of Marion County and Cates House for the wonderful care 

during this time.

A Celebration of life will be held on Saturday May 16th at 12PM at

Marion Therapeutic Riding Association, 6850 SE 41st Ct, Ocala, FL 34480.

Casual attire is requested.
