IN LOVING MEMORY OF
William Taylor
French
November 3, 1936 – June 8, 2017
William Taylor French Jr., age 80, died peacefully on June 8, 2017 at home surrounded by his family in Ormond Beach, FL Bill is survived by his wife Marilyn and five children, Barbara Lee French (Boca Raton), William III (Ormond Beach), Michael T. (DeLeon Springs, FL), Juli Anne Lank (Ormond Beach) and Corynne C. Feaster (Ormond Beach), 11 grandchildren and 7-3/4 great grandchildren, 2 sisters, Nancianne Olson and Sharon Dauenhauer and nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father, William T. French Sr. of Darien CN; his mother, Carol French Hershey of Massapequa, NY; and his brother, Steve Hershey of Ormond Beach. Bill was born November 3, 1936 in Washington D.C. to parents Bill Sr. and Carol. He graduated from University of Baltimore in Baltimore, MD with a degree in Business Administration. During the Korean Conflict, he was called to active duty in the U. S. Army. After honorable discharge in 1961, Bill accepted a position as a salesman at Sealtest Foods in Georgetown, Washington D.C., where he worked for more than 10 years. He and his wife purchased a supermarket in Laurel DE in 1975, named it Frenchs Food Rite and enjoyed serving Laurel and surrounding areas for 13 years. He retired in October 1988, moved to Ormond Beach, FL in 1993 to be closer to 3 of his children and the other two followed several years later. He was a great family man and a loving father. Bill was an active man who loved Rving, coin collecting, cruising and trimming our 21 palm trees until he was 79 years old. His passion for old bluegrass music stayed with him for his entire life and loved going to "pick in's" in Cassia, FL. He could be found at his computer many nights with the sounds of Bill Monroe or Wilma Lee and Stoney blasting throughout our home. A celebration of his life (with bluegrass music) and reception will be held at our home on Saturday June 24, 2017 from 12-4 pm to wish Bill on his new journey. In lieu of flowers, make donations to your favorite charity or just take your loved ones to dinner and cherish them. Many thanks to Bill's doctors, Halifax Hospice and Baldwin Brothers Funeral Home.
