William (Bill) McCall passed away peacefully on May 5, 2025, at the age of 77. He was born on December 18, 1947, to William and Eunice (Heron) McCall. Raised in Philadelphia, he was a graduate of Holy Child, Cardinal Dougherty High School, and LaSalle College. He was a Pennsylvania state employee for over 30 years, and in that time served at multiple County Assistance Offices in Philadelphia, first as a Case Worker, and ultimately as a District Administrator.

As the grandson of Irish immigrants, he was able to obtain Irish citizenship and enjoyed sightseeing and golfing trips to Ireland and Scotland. He scored a birdie on the 18th hole of the Old Course at St. Andrews. Bill loved NCAA basketball, especially Big 5 doubleheaders at the Palestra. After retirement, he moved to Ocala, Florida, where he was able to enjoy the warm weather, time spent golfing, and socializing with good friends. He was intelligent, kind, and well-read. An English major, he was well-known at his local library.

Bill is survived by his wife Liz (Doyle), his brother John (Kate Charles), his daughters Erin (Jason Boroughs) and Moira, his son Brendan, and his grandson Conall Boroughs. His children will cherish their memories of him from trips to Cape May, camping/road trips, and summer evenings at Penbryn Pool. Conall loved mini-golfing with Poppy during trips to Florida.
