Obituary

William Joseph Martin, Jr., a summer resident of North Wildwood, NJ and a winter resident of Fort Myers Beach, FL passed away suddenly Saturday, February 6, 2021 at the age of 68.

Born January 20, 1953 in Riverside, NJ.  Bill was the son of William, Sr. and Elizabeth Martin and was the oldest of four brothers.  He is survived by Donna (Polizze), his wife and soulmate of 41 years; brothers Gary, Tom and Dave (Kitty) Martin; brother-in-law Michael (Patricia) Polizze; nieces Valerie Polizze, Krystin Martin, Rachel (Michael) Britland and Samantha (DJ) McGraw; nephew Nicholas (Svitlana) Polizze; and great-nephew Miles McGraw.

Bill was a man of values and principles, a man who could be counted on and worked hard. A man who enjoyed life and lived for boating, fishing, and his life in Florida. A man who knew how to be happy enjoying the simple pleasures of life. A man with a beautiful soul, rich inside and in all his wholeness wasn't hooked on anything material. A man who enjoyed the freedom of his choices and decisions until the end with no regrets.

Bill was cultured on a whole range of subjects. Until the end he kept his mind busy with crossword puzzles, sudoku and a grid of different word and memory games and he took pleasure in this daily routine.  Bill also enjoyed participating in sports from Little League as a boy and through the years his love for "the game" evolved into his participation as a TV sports fan.

Bill loved life!  We will remember the happy moments, his strength of character, his empathy, his kindness, his faithfulness, his loyalty and his unconditional love. Bill's smile will be missed, his happiness in life will keep us passionate and his love will remain in our hearts and continue to illuminate us. He has won his other world!

Due to the pandemic, a celebration of Bill's life will be held privately. Please honor Bill's memory with a donation to the American Heart Association.
