William L. McCoy, 94, passed away peacefully November 4, 2021 in Daytona Beach, Fl. He was born in Norfolk Va to the late Howard T. and Margaret B. McCoy and preceded in death by his wife, Jane K. McCoy and son, Robert M. McCoy. Left to cherish his memory are daughters Rebecca Fairchild and Lynn A. Exum (Ed), his grandchildren Kimberly A. Detterman, William B. McCoy (Kelly) and James Y. Arnold III (Erica). Bill also leaves his two stepsons, one stepdaughter and several great grandchildren.Our heartfelt gratitude to Hal George, Bill's oldest stepson for extending his love and compassion to Bill on his passing day. Bill was hard working and a loving generous man. He never lost his passion for boats and being on the water. To celebrate his life and his passion, a gathering of family and close friends will be held on the beach of the Chesapeake Bay at a later date in the summer of 2022.
