IN LOVING MEMORY OF
William Mcpherson
Mcgill Iii
October 6, 1932 – December 6, 2023
William McPherson McGill III (91), of Bunnell, Florida, passed away on December 6, 2023. Bill was born on October 6, 1932 in Washington, DC to William Jr. and Alta (Cookman) McGill. He married his high school sweetheart, Sally (Ingraham) in 1952. Bill graduated from Purdue University with a degree in Engineering in 1956, and has often said that his wife, Sally, was instrumental in his success. Family life became very busy with the birth of three daughters, Deborah, Jacqueline, and Molly.
Bill worked as an Engineer in many different locations for Dupont, GE, and Tippins Machinery in several different capacities moving up the corporate ladder. In 1972, Bill purchased his own company, A & F Electric, located in Miami, FL. However, due to tragic circumstances, his business was destroyed in 1980. After some time he was hired as chief electrical engineer for overseas projects in Indonesia as well as Turkey. Upon returning to the US, he decided to revive his business in Miami.
In 1999 Bill and Sally moved to Palm Coast, FL where Bill started his electric motor repair business. His wife of 63 years, Sally, passed away in 2015. Bill suffered from some health events the last years of his life, but still was able to do motor repairs until the past couple of years. He loved music, particularly Blue Grass and used to strum on the Banjo and sing his beloved songs at gatherings as well as laugh heartily at all of his own corny jokes.
Bill was predeceased by his wife, Sally; parents, Bill and Alta; sister, Suzanne, and infant brother, Charles. He is survived by his sisters: Mary Jane, Jeanette (Frank) Macchiaverna; Caroline (Ronnie) Connelly; Nancy (Don) Demuth; brothers: George Meredith (Tricia) McGill, and Lloyd McGill. Daughters and son-in-laws whom he loved like his own sons: Deborah (John) Marinello, Jacqueline (Tom) McHaffie, and Molly (Larry) Meyerholz; grandchildren: John (Melissa), James (Tatiana), Christopher (Chantal), Justin (Lisa), Meredith, Matthew (Jaime), and Mark (Kelly); and great-grandchildren: John, Austin, Skylar, Blake, Zoe, Mia, McKinley, Dash, Caylee, Cole, Landon, Kylie, Chase, Mason, Payton, Taylor, Max, Tucker, and Maverick. As well as all of his many extended family.
