William H Miles, 78, a proud veteran of the United States Army passed away on January 21,2024. Bill was born October 7,1945 in Girard, Ohio to the late Robert and Marie (Simeone) Miles. After graduating from Girard High School in 1963 he then went onto Youngstown State University. In 1967 he enlisted in the United States Army, where he served in The Vietnam War and was selected to join the Special Operational Forces (SOF). Throughout his military career he received several awards and commendations including; The Green Beret, Purple Heart and Silver Star. He truly loved his country and would continue to stand for the flag until he passed. After completing his commitment to the military, Bill went onto complete his degree at Youngstown State University. Bill had a successful career in the steel industry. Bill married his best friend, and love of his life, Lenore in 1989. Together, they would go on to have 34 years of love and adventure. They lived in McDonald and Toledo, Ohio until moving to their forever home in Port Charolette, Florida. Bill is survived by his wife Lenore, children; Ally (Joe) Csizmadia, Christopher Schulay, Melissa (David) Kowalski, Brian (Nicole) Miles, and Craig (Susan) Miles. What really made Bill smile was the love for his grandchildren; Averi, Witten, Camden, Liliana, Brayden & Blake. Bill enjoyed a remarkable life filled with a loving family and a passion for fishing, golfing, and watching The Ohio State Buckeye's football games. At this time, no funeral or memorial service is immediately planned. The family will notify loved ones in the future when a service is scheduled to honor Bill.
