William A. Rossi Jr, aged 86, peacefully passed away at home on Saturday March 1, 2025, in Cape Coral, Florida after a long illness. He was born on July 13, 1938, in Rome New York, he was predeceased by his parents, William A. Rossi Sr. and Sadie (Calandra) Rossi.

William graduated from Rome Free Academy and channeled his entrepreneurial spirit into the successful ownership of several businesses including The Matchbox Restaurant, a popular local establishment that reflected his warmth and welcoming personality. His activities outside of work included a passion for great food, boating, golfing, and spending time with family and friends.

Family was the foundation of William's life. He is survived by his loving wife, Teena (Calandra) Rossi; His children, Sherie Bass (Jim), William A. Rossi III, and Lisa Holmes (Douglas); grandchildren, Brianna Gonzalez (Diomedes), Brooke Rossi, Kiersten Davis (Evan), Marissa Hakes (Alex), Kaylee Holmes; great-grandson, Jimmy Davis; former daughter-in-law, Linda Rossi; and longtime friends, James Brognano and William Evans.

William's life was one of active engagement with the people and activities he enjoyed. Respecting his wishes, no services are planned. While he will be deeply missed, his legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
