William “Bill” Stott, of Fort Myers Florida, passed away peacefully at home after a long battle with cancer on July 9, 2026. He was 75 years old.

Bill was born in Camden City, New Jersey in 1950 to William and Marian Stott. He was raised and educated in New Jersey before serving his country in the United States Army and later in the New Jersey National Guard. He moved to Florida in 1988 and met Rose, his partner for 36 years and wife of 28 years. Bill was known for his quirky sense of humor. He often joked, "I wear the pants in the family because Rosie said I could."

Bill was a dedicated and hardworking man who was extremely skilled at repairing machinery. He held a variety of jobs in automotive and facility maintenance. Later in his life, he worked as a maintenance manager for a Fort Myers retirement home, where his efforts helped ensure a safe and comfortable environment for both residents and staff. Most recently, Bill served as the manager for two home rental businesses in Fort Myers, where his vast maintenance knowledge was greatly appreciated by tenants.

Bill was proceeded in death by his parents, William C Stott and Marian Stott, and his brother Rags Stott.

He is survived by his wife, Rose Stott; his sister, Judy Stott; his brother, A.J. Stott; his daughters, Kim Stott and Liz Stott; his stepdaughter, Angel Rivera; his stepdaughters, Ross Yanga and Zanna Lander, and their husbands, Pol Yanga and Jeff Lander; and his granddaughters, Naomi, Alexis, and Nicole. He will also be missed by his extended family and friends.

In accordance with Bill’s wishes, no visitation will be held. A celebration of Bill’s life will be announced on a later date for family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society in Bill's honor.
