William Alfred Venn IV passed away July 23, 2020 from cancer. He was 63.

Bill was born on Long Island, NY to William A. Venn III and Joanna Venn (Chycota). He graduated from Half Hollow Hills High School, attended SUNY Stony Brook, eventually graduating with a Fine Arts degree from New York School of Visual Arts. He received the Francis Criss Memorial Award at graduation for his fine art talent.

Living many years in Astoria, NY, his creative career began with Paul Waldman of the Castelli Gallery. Santa Cruz, CA became his next destination to be close his daughter, Alexi. Bill eventually made his way to the Atlantic Ocean, with a career as a machinist at Goss Inc. in New Smyrna Beach, FL. His mechanical ingenuity allowed him to fix anything on the shop floor earning him the title it has been "Venn-gineered". He had a love for the outdoors and the beach. Here he fished and rode his bike. Painting was his true passion throughout his life. Bill was an avid "Rock Hound", traveling throughout the western US to search for fossils, adding to his museum quality collection.

He used every medium to express his creativity. These are the things which adorned homes of friends and family. Bill's love and talent for cooking made him the best chef in the family.

Bill is survived by his daughter, Alexi Venn (of San Francisco, CA), his mother Joanna Venn (Chycota) of Lancaster, SC, his sister, Arian Kaufman (husband Gregory), of Houston, TX, sister Barbara Venn of Lancaster, SC, and Jennifer Capron (husband Richard) of Monroe, NC. He is also survived by niece Brett Kaufman, nephews Gregory Kaufman and Jacob Capron along with many beloved aunts, uncles, and cousins. Special thanks belong to Uncle Dan Chycota and Aunt Mary Ann Jensen who provided much support in his final months in his struggle with cancer.
