IN LOVING MEMORY OF
William Lee
Wagner
March 23, 1937 – December 30, 2024
Heaven gained a wonderful, big-hearted, small town farm boy with the best sense of humor. It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of William Lee Wagner (Bill) on December 30, 2024. Bill was born to the late Ewald and Olga Wagner in Green Bay, Wisconsin on March 23, 1937. He was by all definitions a hard worker and loyal friend.
He graduated college in 1961 from The University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point. After graduating, he worked for the federal government in the Social Security Administration for 39 years.
The real magic happened when he wed the love of his life on June 13th, 1964. They shared 60 plus wonderful years together. Bill and MaryEllen went on to have three sons. Fatherhood introduced him to a love for the Boy Scouts. He was a dedicated, loving father, and devoted a lot of his time to being a Boy Scout leader.
The only thing Bill adored more than the Green Bay Packers was his family. He had a passion for sports and loved spending time with friends and family. He never passed up an opportunity to play a hand of cards. His contagious laugh and witty sense of humor earned him the title of beloved grandpa and best friend to many.
Retirement in 2005 brought him to Ormond Beach Florida. Bill was an active member at Lighthouse Christ Presbyterian Church. Bill enjoyed his retirement years playing golf, traveling with his family, and spending time with friends.
He is survived by his beloved bride MaryEllen and loving sons and daughters-in-law; Scott and Heather Wagner (Ormond Beach), Brett and Chrystol Wagner (Belmont NC), Craig and Andrea Wagner (Charlotte NC); nine adoring grandchildren and many loving family members.
His legacy will live on through generations to come, inspiring those who knew him through his kindheartedness, loyalty, and wonderful sense of humor. A celebration of life will be held on Sunday January 19th, 2025, at 1:30 pm at Lighthouse Christ Presbyterian Church in Ormond Beach. In lieu of flowers please consider memorials to Lighthouse Christ Presbyterian Church.
