Williamson
January 21, 1934 – November 25, 2021
William (Bill) H Williamson, 87, of Leesburg, FL went to be with his heavenly Father on November 25, 2021. Bill was born on January 21, 1934, in Fayette City, PA the son of Harry and Margaret Williamson. Bill is survived by his wife of 47 years, Pauline S (Knox) Williamson, his five children: William J Williamson and his wife Nancy of Roscoe, PA, Kimberly L Zippay and husband Robert, of Cardale, PA, Roberta S Doerfler and husband Gregg, of Charleroi, PA, Matthew R Williamson and wife Chelsi, of Nashville, TN and Meredith A Brewer, of Cocoa, FL. He is also survived by eight Grandchildren: Robert Zippay, Brian Williamson, Mandy Rowland, Lori Zippay Ritenour, Raylan Walker, David Claudio, Leif Williamson and Ivar Williamson: Two Great Grand Daughters, Hailey and Kylie Rowland and one Niece Susan Brightwell.
Bill was predeceased by his parents, two brothers George and Joseph Williamson, one sister Harriet Williamson Brightwell, two Grandsons Brett and Zachery Doerfler and one Great Niece Kerry Brightwell.
Bill attended Fayette City Grade Schools until8th grade then transferred to Charleroi High School. After high school he attended W & J College in Washington, PA, to graduate with an AB in Chemistry, then on to Northeastern University in Boston, MA with an MBA (Major) in Economics & (minor) in Chemistry, he continued his education in Chemical Engineering at Cleveland State University in Cleveland, OH and also Computer programing at Husson College in Bangor, ME.
Bill served in the ROTC program at W & J College and was drafted into the US Army near the end of the Korean War. He remained in US Army Reserves under a special program for 10 years following.
Bill was an avid golfer and enjoyed many years of retirement on the golf courses where he lived at Plantation of Leesburg. He served on the Board of Directors for the Plantation Residents Golf Club and was the Master Coordinator of his beloved Fridays Couples Golf League for 13 years.
Bill was loved by many and will be greatly missed by his family and the many friends he has made though out his life.
A Celebration of Life is planned for February 17, 2022 at 1pm at Morrison United Methodist Church. Gifts may be made in Bills memory to: Morrison United Methodist Church, 1005 W Main Street Leesburg, Fl. 34748.
