Willis (Dewayne) Wiesenmiller 87 of Grand Island, Florida went to be with our Lord on Tuesday, June 30, 2026.
Dewayne was born to Willis and Naomi Wiesenmiller June 15, 1939 in Paducah TX. He was a 1957 graduate of Union Endicott High School and attended Broome Technical Community College in Binghamton, NY.
In the spring of 1961, he met Wilma Jean, in Endicott, NY. They married on Sept 2, 1961 at the Noxen United Methodist church in Noxen, PA. She was the love of his life and it was a devoted union that lasted well over 57 years.
They moved to Whitney Point, NY which was their home for many years. They then traveled extensively, relocating to such places as Lantana, FL and Clayton, NC before retiring in 2005 and moving to the Leesburg FL area living in nearby Grand Island.
Dewayne was a member of the Villages Masonic High Twelve Club #674 and had served as state president of The Florida High Twelve clubs. He was a member of Masonic lodge # 65 in Umatilla, Fl and Masonic Lodge #438 in Marathon, NY and was also a past member of Masonic Lodge #1146 in Endicott, NY where he was a past master and he was an avid supporter of his local Shriners.
He was a member of Christ United Methodist Church in Leesburg, Fl and had been a dedicated member of the United Methodist Church in Whitney Point, NY.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was employed by the IBM Corporation for over 30 years.
Dewayne was a family oriented man who loved to attend family gatherings whenever possible. He was deeply loved by his children and grand children and was a humble and thrifty individual who had the ability to build or fix just about anything.
He is predeceased by his parents Willis and Naomi, his wife Wilma and an infant child Rebbeca Jean.
He is survived by his son David (Marion), daughter Judy (George), grandchildren Kristi (Mark), Eric (Leah), Amanda (Austin), Roy and Elizabeth; siblings Don (Beatriz), Mary (Ed), lifetime friends Tim and Dianne, 12 Great grandchildren and one Great great grandchild.
A private family service will be held at a later date
