Wilma Crunkilton age 85, of Port Orange, Florida went to be with the Lord on July 31, 2023.

Wilma was born in Rockwell, NC on May 6, 1938, to the late Roy and Bertha Mahaffey.  Wilma is survived by her son John, her daughter Debbie, and her grandchildren, Ty, Jamee, Jill, Mark, and Rose (great-grandchild), her brothers Clive, Winsten, and Orrin and her sisters, Joan and Janice and numerous nieces and nephews.  Jim Crunkilton, her husband preceded her in death in December 2022.

Wilma participated in beauty pageants in her late teens and was crowned Ms. Salisbury in 1956.  She competed in the Miss North Carolina state pageant later that year and was 1 ^st runner up.

She attended Catawba College where she befriended Dottie Crunkilton who introduced her to late husband, Jim Crunkilton.  After Wilma and Jim were married, she resided in the Northern Virginia area for 37 years before moving to the New Smyrna Beach and Port Orange Florida area for the last 25 years of her life.

Wilma was a multi-talented individual who was eager to learn new skills and hobbies.  She was a self- taught painter, cake decorator, seamstress, and even reupholstered furniture.  She could have easily taken any of these skills into separate careers but always focused these talents to help family and friends.

Wilma was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.  She focused her life and attention to raising the next generation of leaders and her children and grandchildren were the beneficiaries of her loving care and wisdom.

Wilma's greatest love was her devotion to Jesus.  This love and dedication provided the foundation of how she loved and cared for her family.  She was an ordained minister and cherished the times she could share her faith with others in either a church meeting or one-on-one.

Wilma and Jim moved to Port Orange Florida and settled near Jim's brothers.  Wilma and Jim enjoyed traveling, dining out, and being with family.

A private family funeral is scheduled for August 5, 2023, at 11:00 am.  Flowers can be sent to Baldwin Brothers Funeral Home, New Smyrna Beach Florida.
