IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Wilma
Homoki
February 1, 1938 – April 11, 2023
Our beloved mother and grandmother, Wilma H. Homoki, 85, of Ocala, Florida passed away suddenly April 11, 2023, at West Marion Hospital.
Wilma "Willie" was born on February 1, 1938, to George and Helen (Bakos) Pritula in Carteret, NJ. Wilma attended Carteret High School where she graduated salutatorian in 1956. Wilma met the love of her life, Charles I. Homoki, and they married in 1960, moving to East Brunswick, NJ where they raised their four children.
Willie was a stay-at-home mom then worked various part time jobs including EB school bus driver while her children were in school. After her children were older, Wilma worked as a secretary for Rhone Poulenc, Inc., retiring in 1992. She was involved with the EB Soccer Club for many years.
Willie and Charley moved to Ocala, FL where they enjoyed their final retirement years together celebrating 55 years of marriage.
Willie was an extraordinary person who left a lasting impression on everyone she met. Willie was always moving, enjoying an active social life and participating in and coordinating weekly social gatherings in her Oak Run community. Willie's passions were bowling, playing games, running the Bunco game, visiting the casinos, and bingo (with her best friends Sadako and Rosalie), solving puzzles and reading books which kept her mind sharp.
Predeceased by her parents, George and Helen Pritula; her husband, Charles I. Homoki; and her sister Ella J. Smith. She is survived by her sister, Doris Hansen of Staten Island, NY; children, Christina and Mark Bessette, Veronica Fulton, Imre and Michelle Homoki and Charles M. Homoki; grandchildren, Laura, Andrew, Karcsi, Kyle, Imi, Patrick, Emma, Charlie, and Luke.
Wilma was the pillar of her family. She will be lovingly remembered as a devoted, thoughtful and clever mother, grandmother and friend to all who knew her. We will keep her legacy alive through our many memories and are so grateful to have gotten the honor of knowing such an amazing woman.
