Wilson Eugene
Anderson
August 29, 1941 – March 27, 2026
Wilson E Anderson, 84, of Sarasota, entered into eternal life on March 27, 2026
Wilson was born on August 29, 1941 in Milwaukee, WI and graduated from Juneau High School. He enlisted in the Army in 1963 stationed at Fort Meade in Maryland. It was there that he learned computer programming, which he continued as a career until his retirement in 2009. His work was mostly in financial services. He was most proud of his work on one of the first electronic payment systems allowing credit/debit payments at grocery stores and gas pumps.
On May 21, 1966, Wilson married the love of his life, Irene Bauch. They raised two girls who he was so proud of, Carol (Jason) Leonard and Kristen Boettcher. Wilson was the proud grandpa to Jennifer (Ken) Johnsrud and great-grandpa to Brian, Michelle, and James. He enjoyed family vacations to Disney and pheasant hunting with his brother-in-law, Bill. He and Irene vacationed in retirement, traveling to Europe and Ireland. Most every day Wilson worked the daily word Jumble puzzle in the paper. He never met a baby or dog that he didn't like.
He is further survived by sisters Sharon (Bill) Brown and Judy (Butch) Schessow, nieces and nephews.
Wilson was welcomed into heaven by his parents, Wilson R. and Gertrude (Weiland) Anderson, his daughter, Kathy Lynn, and his sisters Shirley Ulrich and Alana Beske. He is singing in Heaven with the angels adding his beautiful bass voice to the chorus.
In lieu of sympathy flowers, the family asks that you share a random act of kindness with someone that makes them smile. Donations may also be made in his honor to Shriners Hospitals for Children, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.
A celebration of life will be held at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 5659 Honore Ave, Sarasota, FL 34233 at 11AM on Saturday, April 18, 2026. Wilson will be laid to rest at Sarasota National Cemetery.
