Estero, Florida – Wm. Edward Minich, 71, passed away Thursday, October 18th, 2018 at Hope Hospice in Bonita Springs, FL. following a short illness. Born in Pittsburgh, PA, Ed was a graduate of Gateway High School and Indiana University of PA and served in the Coast Guard, stationed in Cape May NJ. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert, Sr. and Roberta Minich and his brother Ronald Minich. Surviving are his wife, Linda; children William, Jr. and Kristin; grandson, Gabriel; brother, Robert, Jr.; in-laws Larry and Kathleen Horton; brothers-in-law Michael (Karen) Horton, Andy (Jane) Horton; two nephews, seven nieces; one great-nephew and two great-nieces. Because of his career, Ed, Linda and their children were able to enjoy living in several states and a variety of cities. After retirement from food service management, Ed and Linda moved to Florida, where he was able to enjoy time on the tennis courts and in the billiards room. He was a member of Freedom Church in Fort Myers, FL. Ed is remembered as a friend to everyone who always had a smile on his face. Ed will be buried in the family plot in Monroeville, PA., following a private memorial service, with honor guard. In place of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
