Woodburn "Woody" Brewster (94), of Ormond Beach, Florida, passed away on December 11, 2024. Woody was born on January 28, 1930, in Stamford, Connecticut, to Woodburn and Sarah Brewster.

Woody lived in Coleraine, Northern Ireland, with his grandparents for a few of his childhood years before moving to Mount Vernon, New York. As a teen, he worked on farms in the Northeast. Then, as a college student, he hitchhiked many times to Alberta, Canada, to attend Prairie Bible Institute. While on breaks from college, he volunteered at Pacific Coast Children's Mission and taught Vacation Bible School to children in logging camps on the West Coast.

After graduation, Woody worked in construction and as a church youth leader. It was during this time that he met his future wife, Evie, while they were both counselors at a church summer camp. They were married one year later. Woody and Evie raised their family in the Northeast and then moved from Delaware to Florida in 1981 to enjoy the warmer weather.

Woody's professions were in sales and the Boy Scout organization, but his passion was sharing the Gospel, gardening, and helping others. He was very involved with his church's activities focused on outreach, evangelism, and missions. Woody was also a strong supporter of Wycliffe Bible Translators and JAARS, and helped to build Wycliffe headquarters near Orlando, FL.

Woody was predeceased by his sister, Audrey Downie. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Evelyn "Evie" Brewster; his children, Stephen Brewster (Victoria), Jonathan Brewster, Rebecca Graves (Jonathan), and Philip Brewster (Jaime); his grandsons, Evan Graves, Ryan Graves, Nathan Graves, and Quinn Brewster; his sister, Nancy Daley; and many cousins, nephews, and nieces.

There will be a Memorial Service held on December 21, 2024, at 11:00 am at Riverbend Community Church, 2080 W. Granada Blvd, Ormond Beach, FL 32174.
