Yvette Odette Jensen passed away peacefully on January 6, 2026 in her home. Born to Erard Joseph Shaughnessy and Anna Reine Borne Shaughnessy on January 2, 1930. Her husband Robert “Bob”, brother Richard and sister Julia as well as her parents and two children Ann and Steven preceded her in death. Yvette had just celebrated her 96th birthday with family and friends. Yvette was born in Chicago Illinois and was employed at Time/Life publishing after graduating from Saint Michael Central High School. Yvette attended a play in which Robert “Bob” Jensen was performing at his church and they met through a mutual friend. Yvette was married to Robert Arthur Jensen on September 13, 1952 until his passing on February 4, 2001.
Bob and Yvette raised their four children in South Holland Illinois. Ann Yvette Neeham (deceased October 9, 2025), Steven Robert Jensen (deceased February 25, 2025) and survived by children, Patricia Odette Wilson (and husband Richard) and Thomas Richard Jensen. The Jensen family relocated to Orlando Florida in the late 70’s. Yvette was a devoted and loving Mother and Grandmother to eight and great grandmother “Gigi” to twelve, and Aunt to many nieces and nephews.
Loved by all, she spent many volunteer hours at Orlando International Airport as an interpreter and at Vitas, Catholic Charities and the Foundation at Orlando Lutheran Towers where she spent her final years. Yvette engaged in many activities making jewelry, painting and playing games with her friends at Windsor Place as a big winner at Bingo. During her difficult time at the end, she displayed strength and kindness to all. She enjoyed her last bingo game just the day before passing. She will be remembered and cherished by many.
Family and friends are gathering at the Orlando Lutheran Towers chapel 300 East Church Street in Orlando, FL on the 18th floor at 10:00 a.m. on March 27, 2026 for her memorial service.
