Obituary

Yvonne J. Regester, formerly Yvonne J. DuHarte, passed away on April 24, 2026, at the age of 74. She was born on June 27, 1951, in Brooklyn, New York, to Jose and Berta DuHarte.

Yvonne was a beautiful soul whose love, kindness, and loyalty touched everyone fortunate enough to know her. She was an incredible mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Her life was marked by generosity, strength, and a deep devotion to the people she loved. She had a special way of showing up for others, always offering comfort, support, and love when it was needed most.

She was the kind of friend everyone hopes to have — dependable, thoughtful, and full of heart. Even though she was never a dog person, she lovingly cared for Princess after the passing of her parents, showing once again how big her heart truly was. In her later years, Yvonne found joy in volunteering at church and attending Bible study, which reflected her growing faith and the peaceful spirit she carried.

Yvonne loved the beach and found joy and peace there, especially on the west coast. It was her perfect place, a place where she could breathe deeply, relax, and feel at home. One of her most treasured memories was traveling back to Cuba a few years ago, a trip that meant so much to her. She also dreamed of returning to Cuba one day with all of her grandchildren, a wish that spoke to her love she had for family and the memories she hoped to create with them.

She is survived by her children, Rodney, Tanya, and Nicole; her brother, David DuHarte; her grandchildren, Shada, Sacrittes, Freedom, Sabrina, Christopher, Jada, Aleisha, Gabby, David, Christian, Alianna, Dessoray, and Rodney; and her great-grandchildren, Christopher and Elliana.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jose and Berta DuHarte.

Yvonne’s life was a gift to all who knew her. Her love, her faith, her warmth, and her beautiful spirit will never be forgotten. Though she is no longer here with us, her memory will live on forever in the hearts of her family and friends.
