Professor Adelbert Whitney Ransom, born in Rochester, NY on 4/13/1929, son of Whitney Ransom and Ruth Nodecker passed peacefully on 11/20/2017 with family by his side.

Adelbert graduated from the University of Rochester and Purdue University with a PHD in mathematics and computer science. He went on to teach all over the world. He served in the Air Force and worked at Patrick Air Force Base and NASA during the moon exploration era with many contributions. He retired from Emery-Riddle University as Professor Emeritus.

Professor Ransom is predeceased by his sons Michael and Whitney Ransom, wife Nina Ransom and several sisters. He is survived by his sisters, Elizabeth Williams and Anna Pond, brothers, Raymond Ransom and Elwood Holt and several nieces and nephews.

Adelbert was a very generous man well known for sharing his love of learning with others. A scholarship fund was set up by him and his wife Nina at the University of Rochester in their memory.

A private graveside service with be held in Kansas.
